The Project, pt. 10

"foothills"
foothills

This is photo 10 titled "foothills" from the current project I'm working on (if you want the details about the project, click here).

Before I get involved with talking about this photo, I want to thank all of you who have been leaving excellent and artistic comments about the project pieces. These comments help give me perspective from a viewers mind, which in turn gives me more ideas in how to continue and talk about this project. Talking about art can be weird sometimes and it can be really easy to be vague and say "that looks great/bad". It helps me when you say more, such as how you feel about the piece, what you think the model is feeling, mood, lighting, themes, if it fits in with the rest of the project, and anything you can think of. It's all a matter of opening up an artistic vocabulary.

Anywho, this is probably the only photo of the project were the nature background takes up more space than the model. Foothills are big, so in making the model look smaller and give the nature it's due size I think works for this image. Hopefully it will fit in well with the other photos. I'm also pleased with the squeezed back muscles because they look like little hills, which fits in with my main theme of nature and bodies imitating each other.

I only have 2 or 3 more to share! My little creative baby is growing up.

This looks nice! I think a wide nature shot like this will be I nice change between the more close up pictures. He looks awkward and not fitting in, but because of that he does fit in with the landscape somehow...
I have been wondering how you will be displaying them in the end. Do you get to just place them in any shape you want, or do they need to be lined up or something?

Thanks Dewi,
I don't get to really present them as I would like too. They're going to be line up next to each other most likely. If I could, I would set them up in 3 squares of 4.

It's interesting, the way his head of dark hair rests between his shoulders mimics that tree that's tucked between those foothills. Nice job.

Lexie, I didn't even see that. You're are SUPER helpful when it comes to seeing these images from another perspective!
