Cameras

If I could, I would have many more cameras than I actually need or would use regularly. In fact, I already have too many, but I do love to collect them. I have been poking around Etsy (clicking on any image will take you to the seller's Etsy store) and thought to share these lovelies with you:

1. Kodak Vigilant Six-20. I really would love to have a bellows type camera, specifically in large format (larger than this camera). I'm talking hiding under a black blanket like in the old days kind of bellows camera. Yes.

2. Polaroid Sonar One Step. These are getting super popular right now, which could be a good/bad thing. More may pop up on Etsy and Ebay, but the prices might be jacked all high. I appreciate people bringing back old cameras to popularity, but the product demand is sometimes too ridiculous. This pretty much describes my love/hate relationship with hipsters.

3. Kodak Brownie. Another camera that I've wanted to a super long time. It's just so quaint and very nostalgic. Plus, you can use 120 film in it after a few simple adjustments.

4. Camera Bag. Mine is box shaped and not easy to carry around. My camera bag looks like this around my neck. Yes, it can hold a beer and protect my camera equipment at the same time, but that is the length of it's use.

5. HOLY SHIT. If I had money in the bank, I would use it all on this collection. It has everything I could want and more for a pack-rat camera collection. All more I can say is yes, please.
I have a problem. What's your poison?

typewriters! I am so not allowed to bring anymore home lol. :) that's what I always say. I am on the hunt for some old cameras- but haven't had much luck.

My friend has a brownie camera! But I don't think she ever figured out how to use it. And what you said for #2... i pretty much agree with you there. It made me laugh. Although even I have spent way too much money on a hip camera with plastic body thats really only worth a dollar. Not gonna lie, I am tempted to buy that huge collection of cameras at the end.

Lexie: Do it.

Erika: How many typewriters do you have again? I remember reading a post that said how many you have, but I forgot.

books and dresses, though books win more often lately. I don't have room for either though, so I have to fold my dresses instead of neatly hanging them and my books are just all over the place in endless stacks... I do like the sight of a pretty stack of books though, so I don't really classify this as a problem :)

Love that camera bag! When my family noticed i was into film all the old cameras came out. i have a few little gems now and they are special to me because they have a story. My fav is my the camera my Pa bought in Switzerland on his world tour. Now i just need to get them all serviced and take a few pics.
I have an old box brownie that i have no idea how to use, how do you do the conversion?

Ha. I understand the addiction. I started taking photography classes and working in a dark room over 10 years ago and I just can't get enough of old cameras. In the past few years I've started narrowing down my collection to cameras I can actually use (some with minor adjustments if they don't make the film anymore), but I still do have a few floating around which aren't useable. Cameras are just such amazing, yet simple machines. :)
